Dimensions
6.81x5.11 inches, 8176x6132 pixels
Target spatial resolution
1200 dpi
Reference objects
Non-glossy flat white paper
Mounting considerations
Anticipate that object support will lower to maintain focal plane.
Maximizing distance from copy stand will minimize shadows in hemisphere captures
Exposure considerations
Illumination-Reflectance
16 bands UV to IR
Illumination-Fluorescence
10 captures total (2 bands of illumination each with filters for UV block, UV pass, blue pass, green pass, orange pass, red pass)
Illumination-Hemisphere
56 captures (seven arc positions, eight light positions per arc position)

Essential: one reflective sphere in center of frame that is never in shadow
Advisable: ruler, additional reflective spheres in corners
Mounting considerations
Nice if shiny spheres contrast clearly with background. Flat paper makes sense.

Fill in more info about what we know about the cast in relationship to the original.
According to Cassandra Donnelly (12/12/2018): The original is currently at the Cyprus Museum in Nicosia (its inventory number is 1885). The cast was made for Tom Palaima in the early 2000s when he made a request for one. The request was approved by Vassos Kharageorghis who was the head of the national archaeological association in Cyprus at the time.

Papyrus fragment (2 capture sequences)

“my recollection is that the fragment is around 3" x 4", possibly even smaller, more like 2" x 3".”
